Where the Wild Things are ...and other Maurice Sendak StoriesMy 2 1/2 year-old boy’s favorite DVD is Where the Wild Things Are. He begs to watch it every day so he can act out the story especially the part where they “let the wild rumpus start!” I don’t let him watch a lot of TV so the read-along feature makes this DVD a guilt free choice. The DVD also contains a Spanish version, which is so great because he’s more likely to pick up Spanish from a story he loves. The best part is when it’s time to turn off the TV we can read the book version as a nice alternative.See more information on this site >>
Click, Clack, Moo: Cows that Type ...and more fun on the farmI had been reading "Click Clack Moo - Cows That Type" to my six and three year old daughters for about six months when I came across the Scholastic DVD. My kids watched it on a long drive to Hershey Park and asked to see it again and again. The narrator's voice has the perfect southern, farmhouse twang. The animation is just enough to hold young attention spans. And the story is great. It's quirky and humorous - and even has a good twist at the end. I would recommend both the book and the DVD to any parent.See more information on this site >>
Chrysanthemum ...and more Kevin Henkes storiesBoth my 4 and 7 year old watched this story intensively because they both have been exposed to the book in preschool and first grade. They wanted to see the characters that they had read about come alive on screen.See more information on this site >>
